Shimano pedals and cleats are designed to work as a single system and are perfectly matched to ensure maximum safety and power transfer. The Shimano SM-SH11 cleats are designed for SPD-SL pedals and allow 6° of sliding on them. The cleats can wear out due to extensive use and walking. When this happens they should be replaced to maintain comfort, performance and safety levels.
